Bath baby and other glamour shots

Bath time has become quite a fun play time now that Pollard can sit up really well on his own. He splishes and splashes (and yes, we sing the song), and bites his duckies.

Here he is showing us just how well he can sit up! I call these his "You Are My Sunshine" jammies...doesn't he just look like a little ray of happiness?

And a few other items of interest to all Pollard fans:

Helloooo sippie cup. Although he doesn't really get the whole deal where you have to turn it up for something to come out, he stinking LOVES grabbing the handles and going to town on the rubber tip. We'll get there.

He also grabbed this lovely orange peel at Mimi's Cafe (shout out to Mimi!!) and went to town. He somehow managed to use his 2.5 teeth to rip away a piece of rind that we later had to fish out of his cheek. Suffice it to say that lovely 4th of July outfit (oh yes, we're celebrating all month, those outfits ain't cheap) got a nice dose of Oxiclean later (RIP Billy Mays).

And lastly, how cute is my baby????? I can't stop posting pictures, my kid is so cute.

You've earned it, buddy

After a long, long week of napping, pooping, hanging out at home, taking baths and sleeping, Pollard was exhausted. He couldn't quite seem to shake those nasty shots so we took him to the Trott's for a dip. And that's where he put on this show.

"Ahhhh, this is the life."

"That's the spirit, Mom! Thanks for the cold brew."
"Mmm, Corona Light...this is great..."
"Foamy and delish. Thanks for holding out on me, this tastes delightful"
Naturally Pollard had his first beer at the Trott's.
Not long after that he took an afternoon siesta.

6 Month Check-up!

The answer to your looming question is NO! We can't believe it's been 6 months already, either!

We had Pollard's check up Friday morning, and as usual we have quite a bruiser on our hands! He is 19 lbs 5 ounces (85%) and 28 1/4" long (95%) with an 18" head circumference (95%). WHOA!

Basically he's tall and thin with a very large brain. I like what I see here.

He got 2 shots, which was quite dramatic. The crocodile tears are in full force. He would cry, then stop, then remember and start crying again. It was awful!

Here he is before the appt in my fave jammies that my Aunt Kellie sent him (more on Baby Zutano clothing obsession later). See how clueless he is about thethe nasty shots in a mere few hours?

That little smirk he's wearing is our new favorite look. He usually does that when he's about to full on grin, but it's so dang cute.

Here he is with HIS new obsession, the dogs. Everytime he sees them he starts dying out laughing and doing that labored short breathing that babies do when they get so excited they can't stand themselves. He also jumps up and down in your arms (great bicep workout).

After the doc it was no more smiles, no more giggles. More like a "What did I do to deserve that" look on the face. After we got home he was in this position for hours and hours...

Patriotic Pollard

We headed to Destin with Britton's family for the 4th of July this year...it was a blast!
I have to start with this money shot of P. Can you say HANDSOME?!?!?! Dede helped me pose him at sunset ever so inconspicuously on the dunes (I think there it was a no-cross zone...good thing I stuck my kid in there....ah, the things we do for a good picture). Basically he was the best looking baby on the beach.
(we couldn't get a no-arm shot because he was obsessed with the sand)

Also, Mother of the Year over here ran out of fruit for him when we got down there, so I decided he could use some antioxidants and stuck some blueberries in the blender. THAT went over well!

We sure did spend a lot of time at the pool, and baby boy was loving every minute. But it exhausted him, and did not do good things for his 'do...(although Britton and I were LOVING that hair)

We went down and spent a little time on the beach as well, and P made himself at home on one of the lounge chairs. I also caught him sitting up in his pack-n-play...what are you doing?!?! He also (as you see from the pack-n-play pic) has gotten some really bad rashey areas around his cheeks, neck and feet. His feet have always been bad but I think the heat got him. I don't want him to be the rashey kid at school...any tips?
Here he is canoodling with Daddy, and...wait...did you guys plan that?!?! Gigi and Pollard are dressed alike!!

And of course here are my favorites of cousin Barnes, who is getting SO BIG and smiled at me a million times. Basically, he told me he loves me with his big BLUE eyes.
